We are making a list and checking it twice! One of our favorite times of the year is right around the corner. We worked hard (so you didn’t have to) and threw together a list of all Holiday events coming to our town for the month of November. So pull out your calendars and a bottle of wine because we are about to get festive!
November 3rd: Fantastic Fall Playgroup
SportONE Fieldhouse – This is a free play group open to all members and non members alike. It is hard enough to find a play group for your little ones, so this is something worth checking out! There will be crafts, sensory bins, and activities to engage those little minds. Tire those kids out so you can get more wrapping done and when we say “wrapping” we mean wine. This event is from 10:30AM- 11:30AM.
November 4th : Project Lights Up
Fort Wayne Civic Theatre – This is a sensory friendly performance designed for people and their families on the autism spectrum and other disabilities. This is opportunity for children to participate in traditional theatre that might not typically have the chance to. Tickets are FREE use code AWS at Tickers.artstix.org. November 11th: Christmas Tree Lighting Celebration
Jefferson Pointe Shops – is doing their annual lighting of the tree! Kelsey’s family has done this a few years in a row and they have always had a blast! There will be live entertainment from School of Rock at 5:00PM and the lighting of the tree and Santa’s arrival will begin at 7:00PM! Grab some coffee (or hot chocolate for the kids) from Starbucks, find a good spot and really enjoy the lighting of the tree!
November 14th: Wild Kratts Live
Embassy Theatre – If you have tickets you ROCK!!! This show is based on the #1 animated television series Wild Kratts. Martin and Chris Kratt, stars of the Emmy-nominated Wild Kratts step out LIVE ON STAGE to engage the audience in a classic Wild Kratts story. The kids are bound to be entranced and there are only a few tickets left!! So be sure to jump on this quick moms! This event starts at 6:30PM, tickets rang from $26-$34, depending on seating.
November 15th: Elf the Musical
Embassy Theatre– S A N T A!! – This event is about the hilarious tale of Buddy, a young orphan child who mistakenly crawls into Santa’s bag of gifts and is transported back to the North Pole. This is one of our families favorite Christmas movies! We can not wait to see how the live musical will play out! Standard tickets are $75/person and show starts at 7:30PM. Fort tickets go here.
November 17th: Christmas on Broadway
You CANNOT miss this Fort Wayne tradition! Head over to Broadway Plaza at Beaver Ave to see the 35ft Blue Spruce pine tree fully lit up! SANTA CLAUS will be there people… I KNOW HIM!!!! Santa will also be bringing some of his reindeer. That is right … REINDEER! From the North Pole! (You know how difficult that is? Almost as difficult as dragging my kid out of bed on a Monday!) Do not forget to check out the Polar Express train ride. The festivities begin at 5:30PM and the fireworks are to follow at 6:00PM. This is a FREE event, so come out and make some memories this holiday!
November 18th: Bontanical Conservatory- Snow days
The snowy days are coming, Fort Wayne is notorious for their snow days. If you grew up basically anywhere else, sadly you have no clue what we are talking about. In the Conservatory’s holiday imagination, snowkids go out for snowball fights and forts while snowmoms bake cookies and prepare hot chocolate. Snowmen and snow angels mark the spot where families spent time together. It’s the perfect way to spend a Fort Wayne snow day! Go check out the Bontanical Conservatory displays November 18 – January 7. Admission is $5/adult, $3/child 3-17, and 2 and under are FREE.
November 18th : Headwaters Park – Ice Skating
Who doesn’t love ice skating?! Nobody is actually good at it, but running into everything is half the fun! Right?! My teenager is always asking us to take her, we love to stay busy and be outdoors. So for us this is always one of the favorite things to do around the holidays. You can bring your own skates or rent them for $2. Children ages 3-14 are $3 and ages 14 and up are $5. Every Wednesday children under 14 skate FREE. Skating rink will be open November 18-Feburary 28.
November 21st: Fantasy of Lights
Go checkout a family favorite! This is a tradition for Kelsey and her family, you can roll the windows down, blast the heat and take the 2mile drive past some of the best lit displays in northeast Indiana. Proceeds of event will help support disadvantage people within our community looking for a second chance at employment. They’re open November 21st and every night through December 31st. Sunday- Thursday 6pm-9pm / Friday- Saturday 6pm-10pm. It is $10/car, $20/ 15- passenger van, $40/bus-trolley. November 22nd: Night of Lights 2017
Come join the community on 111 E Wayne St. to light up the night with Santa and His Reindeer! The 30thAnniversary lighting of the Merry Christmas Wreath, Northern Lights, and many more. Participate in the heart warming activities and the count down to light up the night! The festivities do not end there, you go down and see the Festival of Trees at the beautiful Embassy.
November 22nd: Embassy 2017 Festival of Trees
Founded in 1984, Embassy Festival of Trees is a annual stop after the lighting of Fort Wayne. This is truly an amazing event, I love getting my inspiration from these beautiful trees. (Actually pulling it off is a whole other story) This event will go on till November 29th. General admission $8, Children $4-$12.
November 24 and 26 : Breakfast with Santa
Embassy Theatre – Since Santa and I already go waayy back you can bet stockings I’m having breakfast with Santa. Plus McDonald’s is serving! Who doesn’t love their Hotcakes?! (Anyone that knows me, knows I love McDonalds breakfast.) While you eat you can have Mrs. Claus read you a little story to put you in the holiday spirit. This event is from 9:30AM – 11:30AM and ticket prices are $15/person.
November 24- Festival of Gingerbread
History Center– Over 100 creations made of edible materials from pre-k to adults. These creations are a site to see. This event runs from November 24- December 10, admission is
$6/adults, $4/senior & youth. Click here for an entry form.
November 24- Festival of Trains
Science Central – Climb aboard for holiday fun at the Festival of Trains. S- Man loves his trains, I know we aren’t going to miss out on this event. Come and observe model trains in action. This event features trains from local collectors, all who are dedicating their time to show off their model trains. Dates are listed below.
- Friday 24th 10am -5pm
- Saturday 25th 10am – 5pm
November 25th- Creative Crafts to Make & Take
Allen County Public Library – This is a FREE event, for children to make creative gifts for this year’s holiday party’s. Come be creative from 2PM-4PM! You can also check out your local library branch listing for story times. Bring the kids to listen to a great holiday story and make some holiday crafts!
